For all Hamish MacBeth fansPlockton, Ross-shire, Scotland Highland, Argyll and ButeRecommendation added: 18/09/2006 08:17 By: Avon (YSUK rating +8) Avon has been thanked 8 times for this contribution
"Those of you who've seen Robert Carlyl as Hamish MacBeth have seen Plockton on TV, but it's even better in real life. Obviously it's not for people looking for a city break, but for peace and tranquility in beautiful countryside it's hard to beat. It's a National Trust heritage village so artists and photographers will have a field day, history buffs can visit Jacobite castles and prehistoric forts, wildlife fans have plenty all around them, not to mention trips in glass-bottomed boats and the Craig Highland farm, the more active can go walking, swimming and riding and to cap it all there are plenty of good hotels for those who simply wish to use the area as a base for exploring the Highlands."
