"I grew up here and have always found it to be a truly wonderful place, it consists of three villages joined onto one and other and are all along three beaches, all of which are truly lovely I cant weight to take both of my children up to visit, I have take my son up there a couple of times and he just loved going to the beaches I hope my daughter feels the same way. There are a few hotels/pubs and shops in the villages but you are with in a short distance of the bigger towns like Alness / Tain / Invergordon and Inverness. Go on holiday here and you can spend hours just walking along the beach's climbing up into the hills and through the woods, take a nice long walk along the side of the hills and beach to the well of good health. Then to the local for a nice traditional pub meal, also attached to the pub is a nice family run hotel and they also have a selection of cottages for rent, this can be found across the road from the play park, which is only 30 feet at the most from the beach. For clothes shops you will need to go into Inverness. But for all the little essentials you will need on your holiday you can go to one of the local shops."

Comments Submitted by Christelle on Wednesday, 20th April 2011, 7:30am I am french woman, I've never been to Great Britain and if there is a place I'd like to visit first of all in Scotland it would be Balintore and its vicinity. My penfriend was from there and he talked so much about this region that he gave me the envy to visit the surrounding area, why not to leave there, once retired. I am 42 and I know a part of my heart still be there. Don't ask me why...that's just the way it is! may be because of the magnificence of landscapes...
