"Now this was something a different to what we would normally do with our little ones but they did seem to enjoy it, the village is a restored 18th century cotton mill village. Where you can take a nice stroll around the village, take a look inside some of the old buildings and see how people live all those years ago, you can go and see the old water wheel, Robert owen's house. Take a picnic on the grounds near the river, or go for lunch in the café, you can stop of in the gift shop, and then when you are done take a walk to the Clyde falls, when we were there with the kids we saw otters swimming around in the water, it was such a lovely thing to see. You can go and build bird boxes at cretin times of the year. If you want you can even have your wedding here, there was one on when we were there, and it just looked so lovely, it was just such a romantic place. It doesn't take a long time to go around the village and do all the activates but there are a lot of nice little villages right near by, when we were returning home we took the long country route, and I have to say that although it took a little longer to get home it was really worth it, seeing all the field with lambs, and all the little rivers along the way.
New Lanark is part of the greater Glasgow area." | |
