"Well we have all hear of Gretna green, it's where all young couples that want to get married go when there parent wont give permission as her you can get married at 16 years of age with out your parents consent, I didn't get married her but my mum got married her for her 3rd marriage and we went as well, I remember as a young adult wondering if there was anything more to Gretna green other than a place to run away to get married. And the answer is yes there is more to do here than get married so I thought I would share with others a few of the things I found you can do here in the famous Gretna green. Why not start of with visiting the coach museum where you can see a wide range of horse drawn carriages. Visit the clan tartan information centre where there are over 300 clan names and over 500 registered tartans. While here you can discover your clan roots by using there easy to use computer service, you will also a range of goods produced in your family tartan and your clan crest.
Visit whisky galore and browse through the whisky houses wide selection of whiskeys. Visit the old blacksmith shop centre; this is a shop exhibition where you can relive the history of Scotland's most romantic city. They have a play park for the little ones to run around and burn of all that extra energy they just seen to have at all times, and if you get hungry why not go to the old smith restaurant and get something to eat, then go to the new food emporium and look though the wide range so local produce, before heading home. So if you do decide to run away or just go to Gretna Green to get married why not make a day of it and have a lot of fun" | |
