"Eagle heights was opened in 1996 and started with 30 birds of prey now 8 years on homes at least 150 of which there are 150 different species. With daily displays and talks of the different birds it is a real eye opener. See the flying and hunting shows but watch out because as with all animals they can be unpredictable and sometimes fly off in the wrong direction; down into Darenth Valley. If you feel brave enough how about handling a reptile or two, they have all been fed prior to the handling sessions so there is no need to worry about being chewed or eaten. When the displays are over take a walk around the grounds and see the turtles, meercats and otters, or go into the cafe for a rest before taking the kids into the park area for a climb in the adventure playground. You can walk round the avaries examining all the birds and retiles up close and check out the information for a better insight into their life styles, watch out for that alligator though. Parking is free and wheelchairs are welcome."
