"The HMS Belfast served as a major war ship durung the second world war and in 1978 was docked between Tower and London bridge and opened as a museum to the public. Discover the life on this magnificent piece of history as you explore the nine decks. Exploring the sleeping quarters of the crew and get a close up look at the cannons. Walk up the narrow staircase to the control room to see just how much technology has changed over the last 60+ years. This is a full days activity and one well worth it, you will share in a piece of history and learn about what the navy men felt like travelling our oceans to give us a future.Around 950 crew lived and worked aboard this ship fighting for their country between 1939 and 1944. The younger generation take things for granted today although taught about the war will never really understand it but this experience brings them closer."
