"Ideal historic family place in jarrow, easily reachable by public transport and car and is very well signposted of major roads and from public transport stations. Has lots of entertainment days and history days and events for everyone to attend. There is sometimes a small charge for activities. Activities vary from making items related to the olden days and historic seesions informing of the past. it has a small farm with animals that were around in Bedes day which is a really good outing for children. Great for all ages including adults, children, oaps - everyone welcome. There is a cafe onsite which has a varied menu catering for all ages and vegetarians. The prices are reasonable and the cafe is very clean and tidy. there is adequate toilet facilities which are really clean and tidy and easily accessible for all abilities and there are baby provisions. All in all this is a good day out for all ages, easy to get to by all means of transport, cheap enough, is a place where everyone can enjoy a whole day out with lots to do and see. There is a small entrance fee but for a great day out it is well worth it.
