"This is Yorkshire answer to the London eye. The Yorkshire wheel stands an impressive 54 meters high. Making it the prefect way to view the beautiful city of York.
The wheel is open monday-sunday from 10.00 - 18.00 Go earlier on a clear day as it can get very busy. An adult ticket for anyone over 12 is 6 pounds children under 12 are 4 pounds and children under 4 are free.
The pods themselves feel quite roomy but this not an attraction for those with a fear of heights or confined spaces. If taking children on board check they feel happy about it as comforting a distressed child throughtout the ride will make less enjoyable.
The views from the wheel are stunning it is possible to see the whole of York and surrounding countryside. I felt York looked even prettier from such a height than on the ground. This accient city lends itself to this kind of attraction. There is so much to see and do when in York but i think the wheel is not to be missed.
