"This is a lovely pub suitable for all the family the whole pub is non smoking. Children are welcome and highchairs are availble for little ones.
Smokers would have to go to the car park to smoke so this might not be the ideal place to go for a night out for a group of smokers but it does make it a suitable place to take a young family for a meal. The pubs decoration and lighting give a cosy feel and make it a lovely place to eat or catch up with friends over drinks. We didn't have to wait long to be served as there were plently of staff on serving. All the staff were friendly and polite. The Foxglove menu ranges from sandwichs for lunch to full sunday roast and just about everything in between. We went as a party of 8, 7 adults and a baby. I had a seafood pie and thought it was scrummy and would recommend it. Everyone ate different meals and all of us enjoyed our main course. We also had pudding most of our group selected chocolate brownie and ice cream and we all agreed it was heavenly. I did however notice they had quite a poor selection of veggie dish. Although my veggie friend did tell me what they do taste great. The meals came quickly and were reasonably priced, it cost around 15 pound a head including drinks and two courses. Directions to the foxglove from the M62, exit at Junction 24 taking the A629 east towards Huddersfield. Join the A62 Ring Road and turn left onto the A629 towards Wakefield. Continue on the A629 for Kirkburton, we are on the right in Penistone Road. It can be a little bit hard to spot from the road side as the car park slopes down and the pub is at the bottom. But there is a sign on the road side. The Foxglove,36a Penistone Road, Huddersfield, HD8 0PQ." | |
