"Rockingham Castle is one my favourite places to visit. It still feels special although I must have been over a dozen times!
It's a traditional castle built by William the Conquerer with a rich history of battles and drama. From Henry VIII's left luggage to the gallery room which inspired Charles Dickens, there is something to see in every room. Part of the castle is still lived in by the Watson family, but the part open to the public is well worth seeing.
Loads of events run throughout the year:
Children's Easter Egg Hunt, children's and family fun quiz; Jousting & Medieval Village; Falconry & Owl Day; open air theatre shows; Vikings! Of Middle England; Kites Day; Christmas events; Pets, People & Family Fun Day; Call to Arms History Fair, Antiques & Collectors Weekend Fair in the Park; Antique, Decorative & Vintage Fair in the Park; Steam & Country Show in the Park; Food and Craft Show Rockingham Castle Park
