High chairs are available for our smaller diners. The range of food is extensive, with the weekday menu as follows. starters Prawn on toast, spring rolls, salt and pepper chicken wings, curry chicken samosa's, chrispy wontons, shang-hais war tip dumplings, crispy seaweed and prawn crackers. soups and sauces peking hot and sour soup, chicken and sweetcorn soup, sweet and sour sauce, lemon sauce, spring roll dipping sauce, sweet chilli sauce, hoi sin sauce. The food choices were alright, and .... the truth is, we KNOW our Chinese food, being extensive travellers. However, one big disappointment was that they do not provide you (tap) water, even if you ask for it. you have to purchase water from them. worse, we ordered tea one time and when the pot was empty, we asked for a refill of hot water. the owner (!) came back to us and send they cannot provide us with the hot water to top up the tea but that we must buy another pot. little things like these should not have been an issue between loyal customers (we used to go often) and management (ESPECIALLY Management). So we realized we could not eat more unless we paid for water (whether to drink or top up the tea pot-- which was filled with tea leaves)... so we left, and never went back. Submitted by faz on Monday, 14th July 2008, 4:30pm Vicky - that sounds like a geniune mistake there and you should have gone back to clarify - there is no additional or hidden charges when I have beendont let an honest mistake put you and others off a great place Submitted by vicki on Thursday, 24th April 2008, 10:47am I was looking forward to eating at this place as I'd heard it was great. When me and my boyfriend arrived the place looked fantastic,we got our drinks and some food. We then went back for a second helping,I cleared my plate, which I always do but my boyfriend left a couple of spring rolls and a few prawn crackers. We went and got some desserts and finally went to the cashier to pay. I was halfway out the door going to my car and asked my fella how much it came to,£31.50 he said. I was appalled by how much this meal cost. I thought it was supposed to be £8.50 per head for ALL you can eat! We had two drinks which came to £4 so that should make the total £21. All I can presume is that they have a charge for food not eaten. But are you telling me this restaurant had charged a tenner for the scraps leftover?! I didn't go back in to complain as I would of really gone to town on them and was so annoyed. I was halfway home anyway, but I would NOT eat here again, it does not state anywhere that there are hidden charges and is supposed to be affordable for everyone but I resent paying that much for 2 small plates of food and a dessert when I could have gone to Frankie & Bennys for a decent meal which wouldn't have cost so much. Absolutley ridiculous.Submitted by M. Thompson on Monday, 17th March 2008, 4:40pm Very useful info, also fab place to eat.. my favorite!!
