"I recently took my Grandchildren (aged and 3.5 and 7 yrs) to Activity Land in Milton Keynes whilst visiting my daughter over the school holidays. Now in Milton Keynes there is an abundance of things to amuse children from theatre visits to parks and activity centres. This particular day it was raining and my Grandchildren were begging to be taken to Activity Land. Now, I am not a fan of indoor play centres with huge play frames where you simply lose the children (particularly in the school holidays) but I was pleasantly surprised.
My first reaction after paying the entrance fee (over £5.00 per child which is fairly expensive especially if you have 2 or more) was 'shock' at the amount of children and parents in the building - i wanted to run!. However there were lots of tables and chairs and I found myself a base and settled in. Around the perimeter of the room is a 3/4 store, multi level play frame which suited both my Grandchildren. There are death slides (for older kids), curly slides, swings, netting, trampolining, and basic climbing activities. There is also a separate sectiong for under 3's which has a ball blowing machine, mirrors, soft play areas including slide etc. There are also pedal cars, baby walkers scattered around the building. For the older children there is a 25ft rock climbing wall where a qualified instructor teaches the child to climb (also receive a certificate for reaching the top!). I was particulary impressed with the outdoor area where the children can 'pan for gold and receive a medal', dig up dinosaur fossils in the dinosaur pen which the children can take home (a small model in an egg located in the sand) plus a driving centre where there are about 10 pedal tractors in an enclosed area complete with traffic lights and road markings. If you are in need of food and refreshments, there is a cafe area which sells hot drinks from 'Costa Coffee', cold drinks and food. The food ranges from the usual kids junk to nutritional sandwiches. The children enjoyed a good 3 hours of fun and activity. They knew where I was and because of the layout of the indoors, you can keep an eye on them. I was able to follow my youngest around the multi level play frame from my chair (it's a good idea to dress them in something bright so you can identify them quickly). The staff are very helpful to and help to supervise the children." | |

I'd recommend Activity Land to anyone wishing to tire out their kids :) also, ask the climbing instructor if you can have a go.
