"My husband and I decided to have a weekend break on the Isle of Skye. Coming from Stoke on Trent, it was going to take us 14 hours to drive to Staffin but we had been recommended the Old Mission House by friends who stayed there 2 years previously. Unfortunately, on the way there, we got stuck in a motorway traffic jam that added another 5 hours on to the journey. We called Nick (one of the owners) at the B+B to say we would be late and he said there was absolutely no problem - just to take our time - this helped calm the nerves of a fraught driver. However, when we arrived - at 11.30 at night - we couldn't have imagined the warm friendly greeting we received, along with plates of sandwiches and tea and coffee - I had mentioned we would be foregoing our evening meal stop in order to get there before midnight.
The house and owners were so welcoming and we were having such a calm and peaceful time, we actually added an extra 3 days on to the visit - luckily it was slightly out of season and they were able to accommodate us.
I can't recommend this B+B enough - especially if you are looking for a friendly, peaceful place to stay - and the island is simply magnificent. Lots of walks, views, drives, places to see - we had a wonderful time that will last with us for a lifetime."
