"East Carlton Park is running a series of healthy winter walks through the woods. They are themed walks by torgh light, starting at 6.00pm. Everyone then gathers afterwards for a warming drink in the café.
Themes have included Valentine Healthy Heart, New Year Healthy Resolution, Walk off the Turkey
Walk and Talk, and Halloween but the best one was just before Christmas when they combined the walk with a Christmas festival. There was face painting and games and a visit from Santa, who led the actual walk through the woods. I took a group of 16 children who had a wonderful time, they were particularly excited about having a torch and going into the dark woods - what a great way to get kids into walking!
There's another walk tonight (Tues. 20th March 2007) for the First Day of Spring.
Remember to bring a torch (it's half the fun!), Wear stout footwear, and bring Waterproofs (if needed).
