"When in the norfolk area, I recommend a walk around Sandringham. Sandringham is set in 600 acres of beautiful Woodland. When we went the house and inner grounds were actually closed, but this shouldn't deter you from visiting.
Because Sandringham House is one of the Queen's homes, it is a large and unspoiled area of beautiful nature. The woods are dense old and huge. When you drive into sandringham (close to Kings Lynn) you will see sign posts to the visitors centre. Park here (it's free).
You will find many forest walks and a small childrens playground of various wooden structures. There are plenty of picnic tables. If you wish you can eat in the visitors centre, with 3 or 4 dishes generally being served.
There is a shop, selling produce from the estate. You're guaranteed some organic treats. Try the apple juice and cakes. Truly delicious. You can also purchase various plants etc.
Opposite the visitors centre is the walls to the house. In there are an additional 60 acres and opening times vary.
We are determined to visit and will do soon, along with the Grandchildren. When we have we will report back.
2007 Open Dates: Saturday 7th April to Friday 20th July and Tuesday 31st July to Sunday 28th October
Remember the above dates are for the inner grounds and house. The visitor centre and woods are worth visiting all year around."
