"Just returned from a 2 day stay at The Royal National Hotel in London, which was fantastic, this hotel has 1630 en suit rooms making it the largest hotel in central London, and WOW is it big... you see the hotel from the outside and it doesn't look that nice from the outside but when you enter the hotel you see the size and realise. I booked this at my work (work in travel agents) and got the train from Darlington to London and back, 2 nights stay in the hotel, and a theatre show (Blood Brothers), all for £120 per person for everything. You must experience shopping on Oxford street, shops like topshop, next, jjb, and more all open until 9pm and places like Subway sandwiches, McDonald's and pizza hut all open till 2am! We went on the London eye, which I didn't really fancy at first because of the height but it was fantastic, the "PODS" don't swing, they stay will, its not like a Ferris wheel, which made it better because you could really move about and enjoy the views over London. Also took a city sightseeing tour bus this cost £18 per person for 24hours but was well worth it, there's so much to see so the best way is to get the tour bus, this included a free cruise on the Thames River which was also great and learnt alot about London.
If you like theatre shows then you must go down to one strip which has all the theatre shows on, we went to see blood brothers which I would strongly suggest you see because it was a fantastic story, however there's loads more to see, if I had more time I would have gone to see a couple more! London is a big place and 2 days isn't enough to stop and see everything, however taking the tour bus, allowed you to see all the sights in London, and then you had the choice of getting off the bus if you wanted to go to that attraction/place... but overall you MUST go on the London eye, you don't realise just how much you see until you get to the top, you don't even feel it moving, and another good thing is before you board they have those security stick detector things, and they scan your body with that before going in the pod, and then when everyone is out of the pod, 2 security staff go into the pod and search it with mirrors to ensure you haven't planted anything.. Which is reassuring. I hope this has been helpful, but if anyone would like any more info... Just message me!" Was this recommendation useful?
