"A college isn't perhaps the first place you'd think of for a meal out, but Tresham College in Corby offers a great experience. There is a diner where you can get a good cheap lunch, but it's the 3 course silver service meals that are the best value for money.
I had never eaten there before when I booked our work Christmas lunch, and wasn't too sure what to expect. From the outside the building does not impress at all, and walking through the corridors felt a bit like going back to school. Then you suddenly come to the restaurant door and the atmosphere changes. The restaurant is modern, stylish and comfortable.
There were around 20 of us for a three course lunch and we paid £12 a head which was brilliant for what we got. Everyone loved the food, and we were in a section of the restaurant on our own, so it felt like a private function.
The only drawback was the time. As the people serving you are students the whole process takes a little longer than normal. We were there for two and half hours in total, but it was definitely worth it.
People often say there are no decent restaurants in Corby, I think they just need to look a little harder!
