"The white rose shopping centre in Leeds has lots of advantages compared to city centre shopping. Its all under one roof so bad weather is not a problem so you wont have to carry an umbrella's round with you.

Parking is free which is a huge saving as parking prices in the city centre have gone sky high. Its also open late until 8 durning the week so plenty of time to visit after work.

It has a huge range of shops including all the high street stores you would expect to see like next, topshop and primark as well as a debenhams department store. You can look for everything from electrical items in dixions to phones in carphone warehouse or do your weekly food shopping in sainsbury.

Also located centres upper circle is a wide range of places to eat depending on what takes your fancy. For the more health conscience there is Subway, Spudulike, Quiznos Sub or if your fancying a treat there is KFC, Pizza hut express or McDonalds. There highchairs for the little ones but it can sometimes be tricky getting a seat in peak times so maybe consider an later lunch or early tea.

Also avalible are push along cars to help amuse the children while shopping, these can be collected from the customer service desk a small charge is made but kids love them. Also in the holidays the centre often holds kiddie related events this bank hoilday weekend the power rangers are at the disney store.

What I also find nice are the stalls in the centre of the walk ways. I found a lovely wooden name plaque for my son which I hadn't seen anywhere before and my favorite stall has a chocolate fountain and fudge its heaven.

White Rose is conveniently located on the south side of Leeds close to the motorway network off junction 28 of the M62.

Getting there by car

Coming from North leeds go through Leeds City Centre and follow signs marked motorways M621. Join M621 towards Manchester, leave M621 at junction 1 where the centre is sign posted.

Or from junction 28 M62 Follow A653 towards Leeds, take second exit off the roundabout and at the second roundabout turn left into the centre
