"Italian is one of those foods for me that I love eating but I get very full up very easily but I do love it very much so. Zizzi is located in the Mailbox in Birmingham although I do happen to think there are quite a few around places in the UK. We go a lot with work just because they do good food, the atmosphere is nice and it is in a good spot so let me now go into detail with why I think Zizzi restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

-----

What is Zizzi?

Zizzi is an Italian restaurant which specialises in giving you authentic Italian food. They are actually located all over the UK so you should be able to find one near a city for you to visit but I am going to review the one here in Birmingham just because I visit a lot as once you have been you will want to revisit, they make sure of that.

-----

Where?

Zizzi in Birmingham is at the following address;

162 164 Wharfside Street
The Mailbox
Birmingham
B1 1RL

The Mailbox is in the centre of the city of Birmingham and is well signposted throughout plus when you are here you can ask anybody and they will direct you in the right direction. Plus when you are in the Mailbox you go directly up and to the back which is where all of the restaurants are and you will see Zizzi on the middle level.

-----

Location:

Zizzi's is in a very good location situated right in the heart of Birmingham next to all of the public transport links and more importantly right next to all of those big and wonderful shops. It is in the Mailbox which is a very modern and stylish area so you get a nice and lively atmosphere at all times which is great.

-----

Parking:

I will admit to you that parking is not always that nice around here, the main reason being that the Mailbox car park is good but quite expensive and then the only other choices you really have are to park in other parts of the city but I suppose wherever you park you will always not have to walk far to get there.

-----

Outside Appearance:

This is really good because the Mailbox is very nice and clean and stylish so you immediately feel good just about stepping in there. Where Zizzi's is you get very nice views of the rest of the Mailbox and the gorgeous canal so outside it just looks very modern and inviting which is always welcome.

-----

Inside Appearance:

Inside it is great as when you walk in you can see immediately in front of you a huge stone oven where they make all of the pizzas and it is quite fun watching them being made. Plus I like it as you can see that and all of the kitchens which are nice and clean and look well looked after which is just what you need.

The restaurant is on two levels and there are a few steps leading up to the higher level and there are loads of tables there which is nice. The tables are all modern and the whole restaurant just looks very modern and clean which is great. There is not loads of decoration and the place has such a clinical look but it is surprisingly cosy.

-----

Drinks:

There is a good range of drinks but in my opinion they just have what is expected of a restaurant so all your hot and cold drinks and then wines. There is a good choice and prices are quite standard so there are no nasty surprises.

-----

Food:

The food here is fantastic and I love Italian food so it was a test for me. The first time I went I was amazed at how much choice was on the menu and for me it was good as I tend to stick to vegetarian meals. The prices range from £6 – 18 depending on what you have with the average pizza being £7 and a lasagne being around £8.

The first time I visited I had a fungi pizza which for those who don't know is just mushroom. It was so nice and I managed to eat every single bite of it as I had thin and crispy and I can honestly say it was the best pizza I have ever had in a restaurant. The second time I visited I had lasagne which was just divine. The plates are always full and quite big so I cannot imagine anybody going home hungry after visiting. Other mains are things such as Calzones and a lot of pasta dishes as you can imagine.

For starters they do have a few which are priced at £3 – 7 each and there are such things as ravioli and tomato pesto bread which I like. Then for desserts you can choose from Tiramasu which is always a favourite and then a good selection of ice-cream. These are priced at £3 – 5 each.

-----

Verdict:

I like it here and I think for Italian food they do try and give you a taste of how it should be cooked as I have been to a lot of Italian restaurants and the food does not taste authentic at all. I think the atmosphere is one of style and warmth and they do provide a very good service especially with the quality of the food and how it is cooked. Any questions about food and drinks and the staff are always on hand to help.

I do recommend that you book though as it can get very busy in there.

Thanks for reading.
