"I am constantly on the look out for good eating establishments so when in Lichfield on Saturday in the pouring rain I decided I was hungry and then when I thought about it I hadn't eaten for about five hours and it was half past 3 n the afternoon. We visited Apres because my Mom and Dad had mentioned that they had been there before and the food is good and reasonably priced so off we went for me to experience this bar / café and here is what I thought.

-----

What is Apres?

Apres is a bar / café in my opinion as it works well as both. It is a place for all ages and a place where you can go and enjoy good food and a lively atmosphere or just to sit and have a drink and relax ion the big leather sofas.

-----

Where is Apres?

I am reviewing the Lichfield one so here is the address;

Apres Bar.
13 Bird street
Lichfield
WS13 6PW.

When you are in Lichfield it is quite easy to find as there is a lot of parking a few minutes walk away and it is situated at the bottom end of the town which is near to Woolworths and New Look. Due to the huge red signs it is not hard to spot at all.

-----

Parking:

As said above parking is not really a problem. You cannot park right by Apres but there is so much parking available in Lichfield and they are all a two minute walk away from the centre so not bad at all. Parking is at about 70p an hour depending where you go.

-----

Location:

Apres has a good location in Lichfield as it is at the bottom end and literally a minutes walk away from all of the shops. It is sign posted well and it is next to a few other eating establishments but is by far the biggest and most impressive looking building.

Lichfield itself is a lovely area with lots to do and see including the beautiful three spire cathedral and the wonderful park which looks amazing at this time of year. Lichfield also has quite a few shops and is a lovely town to walk around. In fact this weekend there was a folk festival so everywhere you went was people dancing and lots of music. The market in Lichfield is also very nice,

-----

Outside Appearance:

From outside it all looks very posh and funky indeed. The signs for Apres are huge and a very bright red and the actual building is a very clean looking cream. The building is massive and at the side are huge wooden panels for windows which look very impressive and inviting. From the outside it looks a very modern place and in a way looks just like a restaurant not really a bar.

-----

Inside Appearance:

When you get inside it all changes as it looks so modern. The bar is very well stocked and large and all of the seats are bright red like the sign. The tables are nice and wooden and at the back of the building is a large stone fire where they cook all of the pizzas. It all is very clean and looks cosy. At the moment there is a smoking area and a non smoking.

-----

Drinks:

This is a bar so as you can expect you can get every drink you could ever want. They have a very impressive range of cocktails at about £3.50 each and they looked lovely although it was the middle of the day so I did not drink one. The menus for drinks are available and they have a great selection and the staff are a lot of fun so you can expect some fun in there at night I can imagine. All drinks are priced reasonably as a lemonade was just £1.30.

-----

Food:

We came in for sandwiches and they were lovely. At around £3 – 6 each they are well worth the money and you get a lot on your plate so you do not leave hungry. I had a tuna and mozzarella panini which was delicious and it came with salad and crisps. My Mom and Dad have tried the pizzas here before and also the main meals which have a selection similar to a pub really. They said the food is always good, well presented and there is a lot of it.

They do do starters here at around £3 – 5 each and mains are priced at about £5 – 9 each. The second you walk in you can smell all of the food and it instantly makes you hungry. The main meals do include things such as burgers and fish and chips so what I expected.

-----

Atmosphere:

I thought I would mention the atmosphere as it does seem to have a very bar one. The music is not very loud but loud enough that you can sing along. There is a disco ball I noticed which I usually hate in places but it suited the décor here. Then I thin the staff are all very friendly and it attracts all sorts of people. I saw families, young couples and young groups of people and everybody seemed to be having a good time.

-----

Verdict:

Well my parents were right and this is a nice place to go for food and drink in Lichfield. It has a good location and a good selection so I would recommend to everybody if you are in this area.

Thanks for reading.
