"So today I thought I would tell you a little bit about a city called Lichfield which is one of my favourite places in the whole of the UK to visit. I have always lived nearby and visit it at least once every month because I find it has so much to offer. It is a city but very small for one but I think if you ever get to visit you will find it as charming as I do and here is why.
----- Visiting Lichfield: Lichfield is located in Staffordshire and is a small city which attracts a lot of visitors due to its famous cathedral with three spires. If you would like to get to Lichfield then you need to get to the M42 motorway which takes you straight there. I haven't really got a postcode for you to type in for Lichfield but if you type in the following postcode which is actually for the cathedral then you should be able to find the city centre parking. WS13 7LD If you are visiting Lichfield then do not worry too much about the parking as there are quite a few major car parks that you can use with lots of spaces. It is worth coming and visiting though as Lichfield is in a good location within the West Midlands and Staffordshire and is close to major places such as Birmingham. You can also get a train to Lichfield from Birmingham new street so wherever you are in the country you can get here as there are good links. If you live near to Lichfield there are a lot of bus routes that go through. ----- The City Centre: The city centre itself is always buzzing with people especially when the weather is nice it attracts a lot of visitors. Everything is within walking distance so you will be able to see everything on one visit if you like. The one thing that you will notice is that many of the building in the city are quite old and just look beautiful. One of the things I like is the architecture as I do find it stunning. Then the streets can be full of the market or last weekend there was a folk festival and in a week or two there is a medieval market so there is often some event going on in the city centre. The centre has a relaxed feel about it considering it is a small city so I always feel safe there and very relaxed which is good and I just like the fact that everything is quite pretty as that always makes me feel good about a place. ----- Shopping: When you have parked and you have walked into the city centre you will notice that there are quite a lot of shops there including things like Dorothy Perkins, New Look, Woolworths and other ones that you may expect to see. The nice thing about Lichfield though is it does have some local shops that you will not find anywhere else including my favourite which is the bead shop which is amazing and if you fancy having a go at making some jewellery then stop off here as the staff are so helpful. There are not loads of shops but enough to keep you entertained for a few hours so enjoy. ------ Eating: As you walk around Lichfield you will see numerous places to eat and drink ranging from the traditional pub to a bistro to cafes to bars and proper restaurants. Everything looks so quaint and honestly I have eaten everywhere in Lichfield and you always have a nice meal n a good atmosphere. One place I will recommend that you go if you can get into it is Pastiche Bistro as it is absolutely amazing. You pay £5.50 for lunch or £10.95 for the evening and you get a three course meal. It is a lovely place which has a very rustic feel and it is a place you will return to again and again as I do. ----- Park: There is a massive park in Lichfield which is lovely. There is a sweet little park for the children to play on which has some swings so it is quite sweet. There is also a golf course there and some massive outdoor games which is quite cool. The park also has some very impressive plant life which is beautiful and it is basically a lovely place to have a walk around. ----- Cathedral: The cathedral is open to visitors and it is gorgeous to go and have a look around. It has three spires which is an impressive sight straight away and the building is just spectacular. It is only a few minutes walk away from the centre so is well worth a visit as I think you will find it just stunning. ----- Canal: There is a small canal which in my opinion is worth a mention as it is absolutely lovely to go and have a sit by or just take the kids and feed the ducks as that is one of my favourite memories from when I was younger. ----- Nearby attractions: Near to Lichfield there are many attractions including Swinfen which is a lovely place with a few craft shops and a fantastically yummy pancake house. Then you can find outdoor activities such as paintball nearby. There are many country pubs around as well if you travel out of Lichfield and then of course you have all the links to go to other places such as Birmingham, Stafford and Tamworth for example. ----- Verdict: I love Lichfield and always have done. I think it is a lovely place which is well worth visiting and I always have a nice time when I go which is great. If you are near then please do visit. Thanks for reading. xxx" Was this recommendation useful?
