"This delightful park is a wonderful place to spend time on a lovely warm summers day or evening. It is a large park with lots of space, in fact there is 700 acres of parkland to be explored. Its a great idea to pack a picnic or a disposiable bar BQ as unfortuanlty the cafe there burnt down recently so its a good idea to take your own food if your feeling lazy you could always pick up a take away on route to the park. There is a large lake where many people can be seen fishing although I have yet to see anyone catch anything from the lake but the ripples on the water suggest there are plently of fish swimming around in there. A strole sround the lake is a great way of burning off a meal and you could always take some bread to feed the ducks on the lake. On a warm summers day the park is filled with all kinds of people including many families and dog walkers. Cricket matches take place in the park which can be entertaining for sporty types. There is a lovely playground for the children with a soft flooring for extra safety although when it busy you'll find yourself waiting to get on the swings. There are plently of ice creams vans around the park if you need a refreshment and also a new additition of portable toilets which is very handy. The park has car parking which is free which I think is a bonus as parking is so expensive these days in Leeds."
