"A review of Ruda Holiday park - Park Dean
We love our uk holidays and was pleased to find this website. Its refreshing to find a site that has an emphasis on holidaying in the uk as the preffered option. Ive argued this for years. Anyway, back on topic. We recently pushed the boat out and had our Summer holiday 2007 in a Luxury Lodge in Ruda holiday park in Croyde bay Devon. We have stayed all over the south west of the UK and must say this was one of our most successful holidays.
Ruda is in such a beautiful spot. A part of North Devon that is mostly unspoiled. Surrounded by cliffs and sand dunes you will not struggle to find a spot on this uncrowded sandy beach.
The holiday park itself consists of some touring pitches, lodges and caravans. I think the best locations are enjoyed by the lodges and touring pitches. This is very close to the beach and sand dunes. Sleeping with the window open at night is so relaxing with the gentle rumble of the waves in the distance.
Our lodge cost about £800 for the week. There were 8 of us, 4 adults and 4 children. If you think of £800 being expensive, compare that to a holiday abroad for 8. Plus you won't be in such a nice place. The lodges are perfect homes from homes. You have everything from a hairdryer to a microwave and dishwasher. Private verandahs are also surrounding each lodge. We've stayed on many parks before and never have the lodges been so widely spaced. Well done Ruda!
The park itself has a lovely bar restaurant. We're from London, and the standard at Ruda definitely compares very favorably to the standard I'm used to in the city. This is unusual for a holiday park. There's entertainment too. We don't normally participate, but we took a couple of nights in and enjoyed it thoroughly. One of the girls was very lovely - if you ask me I'll tell you which, but don't tell my girlfriend!
There's a play park, a fantastic swimming pool with a fun slide. Great way to start the day. Anything you can possible want for a wonderful UK holiday.
I hope you find this review useful. Ask me any questions you like and I'll see if I can answer it."
