"Amerton farm and craft centre is near to where I live and although my friend recommended it to me quite a while ago I hadn't been until the other day. What I found was a very enjoyable few hours out and there was so much to see, do and dare I say it buy there. I think it is a very sweet place and I am going to attempt to give you a quick snap shot of what it is like to visit there.

The address is as follows;

Amerton Farm
Stowe by Chartley
Stafford
ST18 0LA

Location is brilliant and it is about 20 minutes away from Stafford town centre and very easy to find indeed. It is on quite a main road which is the A51 and it is signposted from there. It is not only next to Stafford but is right by Cannock Chase and also the lovely halls of Weston and Shugborough. What I am trying to say is that there are lots to see and do around this place as well as actually visiting the farm.

When you are on the road you will know exactly when you come across the farm as they have a massive sign outside directing you into the car park. The car park is huge with plenty of room for cars to park and trust me although it gets very busy there, you will still find a space.

SO you walk into the centre and it has a small square courtyard with lots of benches around so you can go and get a drink or some food from the café and take it out and eat outside on a warm summers day. Unfortunately when I visited it want warm enough to sit outside but there were still quite a few people there.

So first I will tell you about the shops. The jewellery shop is huge and sells some expensive things but a lot of it is very reasonable indeed. It is lovely and comes packaged beautifully so is a great idea for presents. They sell all kinds of jewellery and have a great selection and the staff there are lovely and will help you find the perfect piece which is nice of them.

The small pottery shop is absolutely beautiful and sells some gorgeous things. I particularly like the clocks they have on the wall which can be in the shape of hearts or circles. They are lovely and they sell really nice pots and vases and things such as that. The prices are not bad such as £12 for the clocks. Once again this shop is good for presents as they are something different.

The chocolate shop as you can imagine is delicious and sells hand crafted chocolates at about £2 for six chocolates which were yummy. They also do wedding cakes here and have some showcased and they are beautiful. So beautiful in fact that I have their numbers in case I want them to make my wedding cake.

The bakery is next on the list and it is lovely there. They sell your usual sausage rolls and pastries and then they also sell home made lasagnes and cheese pies which did look delicious and I had to stop myself for buying them all. They also have a lot of cakes there which again look nice. At about £2 for all of these and £1 for sausage rolls the prices are fine.

Then they have a really lovely massive shop which has so many things there. There is a food part which sells local jams, ice-cream and biscuits which are all lovely and the prices are absolutely fine. Then there is a kitchen section which sells lovely things such as aprons, trays and things like that.

Then there is a toy shop which is full of delights, then a shop which sells fabrics and wools for home made crafts. Then there is a place for lots of gifts and things for the home such as art pieces and ornaments.

There is a garden centre here which is huge and there is an outdoor and indoor part. They sell tools, seeds and a lot of plants and garden decorations which is great. The prices are about the same as any other garden centre so nothing to surprise you. They have a good selection of things for any garden lover.

So that is it for the shops and then they do have the café. The café is huge and has a lot of choice for food and drinks and you can have a very pleasant lunch there for about £5. they use the pottery from the pottery shop in the centre which is lovely to see and the food is delicious. The staff are very friendly and the place has a very cosy feel to it.

Ok now we come to what I really love there which is the animals. They have a few farm animals here which are all there to be admired and they are all very friendly. The goats, cow and horses all come over to you and let you stroke them which is sweet. Then they have some pigs and ducks there too. Everybody likes it in this part and they have an outdoor tap there for people to wash their hands afterwards.

There is then a wildlife centre which hosts owls, foxes, birds and more. It costs £2 each to go in and it is worth it as you can spend half hour in there looking at all of the animals. Plus it is a wildlife centre so you know your money is going to the greater good so to speak.

The final thing here is the small railway but this was not in operation when I visited so I cant tell you much about it.

All in all I think this centre is fun for everybody to go to. You can spend a good few hours there just tootling around and it is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Lots to do and I guarantee you will have a nice time.

Thanks for reading.
