"Frankie and Benny's is a New York Italian resturant and bar located at Cardigan fields leisure complex in Leeds. It is on the Kirkstall road, other attractions on the complex include the Vue cinema and Virgin Active gym.

I went for the lunch time menu as my dining partner spoke highly of the food. They have a special menu 1 course is 4.95 two courses are 6.25 and 3 courses are 7.45 Well I was so full after eating 1 course, I didn't eat for the rest of the day so to me thats great value for money. I had a cheese burger and chips and it was quite frankly excuse the pun lol it was huge. There were so many chips and a dipping sauce. It was nicely presented.
The restaurant itself is themed as a 1950's New York dinner. I thought its decoration was suited to the American Italian menu. The menu includes pizzas, pasta's and sandwiches as well as other things. When we ate it was fairly quite I imaging with the wooden floors it would be rather noisey when busy but there is plently of space between the tables so you don't feel like your on top of one another. We found they service to be pretty slow considering how few people were in although we were starving when we went so this may have made the wait seem longer than it actully was.
There are kids menu's starting from 3.95 and you get two courses and refill drink for that which I though seemed good value although I didn't sample the menu at our visit so I can not comment on the food although you can get a free salad or veg as a side for the kids which seems a good idea.

This might be good place to eat before or after going to the cinema rather than undoing all your good work after the gym.

Also keep your eyes peeled for a student discount books as they have coupons for 25% off your final bill.
