"Whenever I feel the need to do a bit of shopping Sutton Coldfield always seems to be the place where I go, whether this being just for a potter round random shops or going to do some serious shopping. For me Sutton Coldfield is a great place as I'm not that fond of shopping in the first place, but the town is just big enough so you can get everything you need, yet small enough that you can go in every shop in a few hours.
To get to Sutton Coldfield is quite easy. The easiest way to get there is by train as the train station is a five minute walk into the town centre. There are also buses that go there including the 65A and 111. If you are travelling by car than it is easiest to get onto the Lichfield Road or Chester Road and follow the signs to Sutton Coldfield. It is not that far from Birmingham so buses are quite frequent and easy to find. It is easily accessible from Junctions 5,6 or 7 of the M6. So what's actually in Sutton Coldfield? Well the shops are the main reason everyone visits. It pretty much has all the main high street stores you could wish for, Laura Ashley, Next, Jane Norman, New Look, River Island, WH Smith, Woolworths, Argos, GAME, BHS and many more. The shops aren't the largest in the world but they are big enough so you are bound to find quite a few things that you like. I especially like House of Frazer as this has 4 floors all with many products such as make up, perfume, clothes, kitchen ware, handbags and a coffee shop on the top floor. So for shops Sutton Coldfield is quite impressive and can easily fill an afternoon or even a day if you want to go shopping. There is also a cinema in Sutton Coldfield which shows many films all through the year. I like this cinema as it never seems too full and the prices are alright compared to many cinemas I know. I paid £3.50 for my ticket so not that bad. The films are all up to date and the screens are quite big. My only complaint is that the seating isn't the nicest I have encountered in a cinema before. However it does have its own car park so it's quite easy just to go to the cinema without parking in town. There are a few car parks in Sutton Coldfield and I must say I don't think I have ever once not found a parking place. However the place can get quite busy, especially on Saturdays, so going early is recommended. There are many other things to do around Sutton Coldfield which make it the perfect base for a day out. There is Sutton Park which is very pretty, the golf courses around the town are very nice but do require membership. There is Sutton Coldfield campus which is a sixth form college and has received brilliant reports. There is also Kingsbury Water park which is always fun to take the kids to. The Mitchell centre is also great to go to, it is a mall filled with different shops but it is primarily an arts and craft centre. The address for The Mall of Sutton Coldfield which is the main shopping centre is: The Mall Sutton Coldfield 210a Parade Sutton Coldfield West Midlands B72 1PA Telephone number: 0121 355 1112 Most of the shops are open till 5.30pm on weekdays and until 6pm on Saturdays."
