"Spinnaker Tower is the (controversal) new attraction in Portsmouth. I live nearby and 5 years over the due date for completion I was not not sure how good it would be.

However, I can honestly say it is a pretty stunning piece of architecture and well worth a visit if you are in the area. The highest viewing point is 110 metres and you can see for miles over the Solent and as far as the new forest.

I am not a big fan of lifts but it only took about 30 seconds to get to the top.

It's situated at Gun Wharf quays and at night it looks amazing lit up. At Gun Wharf there are loads of really nice bars and restaurants, a cinema, bowling alley and casino. Santa Fe is great for a cocktail and I really like the hustle bustle of La Tasca, the tapas place."
