"Calling all Thomas The Tank Engine fans!
If you are looking to entertain the kids there is no better way than to give those little Thomas fans a trip to the Nene Valley Railway.
Nene Valley Railway near Peterborough, Cambridgeshire is home to 'Thomas', Britain's most famous locomotive. Although NVR has an array of trains, Thomas is certainly rated no. 1 by my toddlers.
Thomas' immaculate locomotive glimmers on the tracks and takes its riders to Peterborough Train Station from Wansford Station. Thomas holds events throughout the season including Half Term Specials and Thomas' Birthday Party Sat 28th June & Sun 29th June 2008 - its a big occasion so i advise you get your tickets in advance. If you are looking for more events follow this link http://www.nvr.org.uk/thomas/events.php
Nene Valley Railway is a standard guage preserved railway, running 7 and a half miles and was Peterborough's first railway line. There are regular steam trains which operate over the line. The railway is very qauint and has featured in many television series including Londonīs Burning and breath-takingstunts in the James Bond films Octopussy and Goldeneye."
