The Humber Bridge - An interesting walkHumber BridgeEnjoyable Walk in/near Hull, Yorkshire, England Yorkshire Review added: 01/02/2006 16:48 By: sspk (£0.00 earned from reviews) Earn £££'s
"You might not think walking across a huge bridge, scarcely a few metres from noisy traffic would be a pleasure, but trust me it is. While it's true that you're not far from the traffic, be reassured that you're on a slightly different level and the traffic is a small price to pay for the amazing views afforded from this massive and impressive structure.
Park on the Hull side of the estuary by following signs to the observation area, and then take the time to walk to at least the centre of the bridge. The massive spars and sheer size of the steel cables are fascinating for a start, and I know from experience that small children are amazed by the structure itself, and can gleefully point out small boats, structures along the river bank and various other points of interest. If you're not into walking, a drive along the bridge is nearly as exciting, but I guarantee you'll be surprised by just how many people will be there enjoying a trot along the bridge." | |
