Holywell Bay, CornwallHolywell Bay Village, Cornwall, England South WestRecommendation added: 28/03/2008 13:32 By: thenelsons (YSUK rating 0) thenelsons has been thanked 0 times for this contribution
"I took my family on a 2 week holiday to Holywell Bay in Cornwall last year and we simply had a wonderful time. If you are looking for a perfect beach holiday in the UK without dragging your family abroad (let's face it who enjoys flying with children!) then I recommend Holywell Bay as a perfect fit.
We stayed at the Parkdean resort. Although I wasn't overly happy with the accommodation and facilities that the park offered, it was a good location right next to the beach which is ideal when you are lugging inflatables and picnics to the beach daily (weather permitting). The beach is quite breathtaking with 1km of golden sands which is sheltered by dunes. For older children and adults the sea is exhilarating with great waves to surf on. You can hire boards and wet suits and there is a surf school for lessons too. For small children and babies, you will find many small lagoons when little ones can paddle for hours. We didn't eat out so I can't tell you too much about the local restaurants and pubs although Holywell Bay Village is quaint with a shop, cafe and two inns. Our family watched the sunset most evenings with a bar-b-q on the dunes which was really special. Overall I would recommend Holywell Bay as a fantastic destination for a relaxing break in England. There is plenty to do in the area with Newquay, The Eden Project and Truro on the doorstep." Was this recommendation useful?
