"We live in Nottingham, so for our first try at camping we didn't want to go too far, but really did need a change of scene. This site is lovely. The owner is very welcoming, and gave us a local information pack and was happy to help with our equipment problem. We didn't know how to fit the gas bottle to the cooker!
We camped with a group on the rally field - electric hook up available - so we could be a little bit rowdy without disturbing the rest of the site. The toilets and showers were close by and clean, and also a handy freezer for our cool box ice packs. There is so much birdlife - stay awake to hear the tawny owl! Enjoy the aerial display of the martins and swallows all around you.
You are well placed to visit the cathedral city of Lincoln, or explore Sherwood Forest and all the activities available there if that's your sort of thing. We were happy to enjoy the fresh air, the wildlife and views and to amble by the Trent, although our dog prefered paddling in it.
