"There are 2 nightclub type places in Builth Wells (I say “nightclub type places” as they are small). Bengos is mostly my favourite of the two as it is an ok size. It opens till 2am.
Bengos is above the White Hart. In the winter it usually just opens on a Saturday night.
When it's open on a Friday night it's free too get in all night. On a Saturday night it is £3 after 11 and free before 11.
I recommend going after 11 as there are usually a lot more people around then.
The music played in Bengos varies the Dj who is usually Jon plays a mixture of dance, pop, rock, r'n'b, rap, oldies and cheesy pop. Next to the Dj box there is a small stage with a pole in the middle. As bizarre as that sounds it is funny watching people trying to pole dance round it.
I have never tried it myself but I'm usually found dancing somewhere on the stage.
There is a small dance floor in front of the stage.
The seating is comfortable as most of it is cushioned. A single short with mixer of something like Smirnoff or Jack Daniels will cost 2.00 and I think bottles are 2.50. They do special offers on some drinks. I drink house vodka as a single is 1.00.
Depending on how busy it is it doesn't take 5 mins to get served. It's a good place to go on a Saturday night but avoid like the plague Royal Welsh Show week in July as there is always terrible fights up there. If you're around on a Saturday night pop in you might see me there."
