"Mead is s city farm which is great for adults and kids alike, especially in the spring. After paying you proceed straight to the petting area where there are rabbits and guinea pigs which are brought out of the pen and can be held by the children.

From here we went outside to a huge play area which is split in two for younger children (under 4s) and older children (up to 12). It is surrounded by sand so it's safe for all. In the spring, there were piglets running around in this area and the kids absolutely loved it.

There is an area where the bigger animals are kept and in the spring you can feed the lambs with bottles.

After a tractor ride round the farm the kids can let off steam in one of the 2 indoor play areas. The first is hay bales with tunnels the second is a soft play area with the usual slides and ball pits.

There is also a cafe which is great for ice-cream but a bit expensive to have lunch.

All round the farm there are plenty of picnic areas os you can save yourself a bit of money.

We arrived at 10 and didn't leave until 4.30 with 3 really tired but happy children. A cheap day out...if you take a picnic"
