"Having just spent 2 days there of this bank holiday weekend I felt compelled to write some reviews on the excellent Santa Pod. We received.
The event: FIA "The Main Event" 2009
Friday 22nd - Monday 25th May

From the programme:

“The Main Event is the first round of the prestigious European Drag Racing Championship, and features the largest race entry and most packed Motorsport event anywhere in Europe! Over 200 teams, and 17 race classes make this event unrivalled for both the quality and quantity of racing.”
I never knew what to expect from an event at Santa Pod. I live in Bedfordshire – just a short drive away, and have been tempted to go but never really bothered. There were posters and flyers everywhere so decided this was to be the weekend I'd attend. I was blown away at the quality of the organisation, the diversity of things to do and the sheer entertainment.
There was a lot going on at once. You could watch the drag racing, or monster trucks demo. There was a plane flypast. There were places to purchase alcoholic or non alocoholic beverages all over the place.

I watched the jet cars which was particularly good fun.
I don't have any, but if you've got kids you'll find a small funfair. The entertainment goes on right through to nine oclock if you've got the stamina.

I even witnessed one major smash up. With these cars costing 250000 upwards, there's no surprising grown men cry.
