This is without a doubt the best restaurant, bar none, for miles around! A full menu is available online but here are a few examples (which I can personally review): Langoustines and king crab with pan fried garlic new potatoes and lumpfish caviar topped with mixed cress and a red tobico and lime dressing - This is well worth £14 for a starter. The king crab is one large piece of fresh, tasty, moist meat and the langoustines are pre-shelled (which is always nice when eating out). Beef fillet served with a pan fried scallop, potato poached in garlic soya sauce and cauliflower purée topped with rich red wine and balsamic jus - £24 well spent. The meat is just perfect and the presentation shown here was without fault. Trio of desserts- a mini chocolate fondant topped with vanilla ice cream, mixed sorbets and berries and a mini crème brulèe topped with apple - WOW! 3 mini deserts each more orgasmic than the last. The mini fondant, while small, is the jewel in the crown for this already fabulous desert. To accompany the usual three courses, you get an appetiser and pre desert (which in my case was Lychee in rasperry coulis with vanilla foam). These are nice touches that add to the overall experience. The restaurant itself carries with it an atmosphere of sheer class and indulgence. From the flock wallpaper, to the hardwood tables - there is nothing to fault. There is a decent and extensive wine list also, but dont be afraid to ask for advice. The staff are very knowledgable and always happy to help. Overall a meal for two I would say varies between £100-£120 - Which, while a high price for Great Yarmouth, the food being served is worthy of a top class London Michellin starred restaurant. Book in advance though, they are usually busy! Its easy to see why as well! This is, without doubt, my new favourite place to eat! I defy anyone to disagree." | |
