"I regularly visit the Whitehouses pub with my 83 year old Grandma and my 5 year old daughter, (I am 26). We are always made to feel very welcome by the manager and all of the staff.
I have to say the food here is of exceptional quality and i have never had a bad meal here. They have the regular pub menu with dishes ranging from delicious sandwiches to pub classics such as Lasagne and my daughters personal favourite, scampi and chips. They also have a specials bored which is regularly changed to suit the different seasons. The specials bored dishes range from fresh fish (some of which in the past has been caught by the manager himself), local meat and game dishes to fresh seafood. My personal favourite is seafood tagliatelle. It is bursting with fresh seafood such as squid, mussels, prawns and scallops.
I have sampled a couple of desserts from the dessert menu and all have been divine. The ice cream they use is from the local ice cream parlor (Thaymars). Price wise it is more expensive than a lot of pubs in the Retford area but this reflects the quality of the food and service of the staff and is worth paying that bit more for."
