Beautiful Barn ConversionGlyn PerisAccommodation in/near Llanon, Ceredigion, Wales Mid Review added: 12/11/2009 21:14 By: StOswald (£1.50 earned from reviews) Earn £££'s
"Glyn Peris is a 2 bedroom barn conversion in the village of Llanon off the main coast road between Aberystwyth & Aberaeron.
The cottage is set back off the main road, down a private driveway, and is situated alongside the owners property. The property has a large lounge area, with wooden floors and seating for 6. There is a fold out bed settee available for larger families. Also downstairs is a large and very well equiped modern kitchen, a large table which seats 6,a stone floor. There is a staircase off the lounge to an open gallery, with a small bedroom, with bunk-beds and a large master bedroom, with wardrobes. Back downstairs is the bathroom, with full sized bath and shower over, toilet, sink and cupboard containing the heating and hot water controls. The lounge is decorated in light colour's and there is a feature stove at one end, a small TV is also provided. The kitchen even include a dishwasher along with microwave, fridge and washing machine. Most if not all the furnishings are from Ikea and are in tip top condition. Outside the cottage there is a grassed area, space to sit out on a summers evening and a washing line. To the front of the cottage is a small fenced off area, which quiet often contains lambs and sheep. to the rear of the property up a slight bank is a field, and this has had sheep in it and cattle when we have stayed at Glyn Peris before. Back inside there is a galley area at the top of the stairs and space to provide a travel cot, mind you the main bedroom is big enough to have a cot. Windows upstairs are the Velux type and looking up you have oak beams. Glyn Peris is far enough off the main road to be peaceful and is an idle base for couples wanting a romantic week away or families with young children wanting a bit of everything. The village of Llanon is quiet, it has a fish and chip shop & very good they are too! A post office cum convienence store and a bakery at the far end of the village. The beach is about a 5 minute walk away down a foot path and some narrow roads that lead to residential accomodation. Once on the beach, you will find it is pebbly at high tide - here you can just sit down and chill, listening to the waves and watching the wildlife at sea or above in the form of Red Kites. The owners are around if you need any help or advice, they provide a supply of literature on places to visit in the local area and further afield. My kids were able to borrow some of the owners children's videos, which was very nice of them to be able to do that. For what you get; Glyn Peris is very good value for money, £445 in the high season and £290 at Autumn half term - prices are per week (2009)." | |
