"The Fallen Angel Hotel is one of Durham's more unique hotel experiences. It's one of the few places that Durham residents will visit too, not just tourists!

The hotel has 10 differently themed rooms, ideal for living out your favourite scenario! The rooms are

- Sci-fi. Although the name is pretty generic, the basic them is Dr Who. There is a Tardis, Dalek and even a Cyberman! This room also has a private hot tub.

- The Premiere. This room is based on a cinema theatre. There is a large screen on which to watch films and it even has it's own popcorn machine! After watching the movie you can relax in the river view hot tub.

- Le Jardin. If you dream of sleeping under the stars, this room is for you! The carpet is actually grass and the room has a floor to ceiling window which overlooks the River Wear.

- New York. The walls in this room are covered with the New York skyline and it has its own jukebox!

- Russian Bride. This room is Dr Zhivago influenced and has hand carved furniture with bamboo flooring. It has a private lounge and jacuzzi spa with views over the Cathedral and Castle.

- The Cruise. Modeled on a cruise Officer's cabin, this room is full of curved walls and port holes. Ship Ahoy!

- Le Boudoir. If you're into pure indulgence, this room is for you! Loosely based on a Victorian boudoir, this room is red, full of velvet and very naughty! Four poster bed, fireplace and a super dooper power shower!

- Edwardian Express. This room is themed around the Edwardian Express First Class experience. Vintage suitcases and a Station Master's desk complete the look.

Cruella. A gothic style themed room, black and luxury items are the order of the day here. Black velvet bed, canopied bath and private sauna scream luxury.

- The Library. Themed around an old fashioned Parisian library, this room is for book lovers everywhere! Sink into one of the cosy armchairs with a good book!

The Library, Edwardian Express and The Cruise are priced at £150 for 2 people for one night.

Le Jardin, The Premier, Cruella, Le Boudoir, Sci-fi and New York are priced at £250 for 2 2people for one night.

Russian Bride is priced at £300 for 2 people for one night.

While not the cheapest of hotels, if you are looking for something truely different you have found it here. Ideal for a special treat and if you are able to book late, by checking their website they have a section where you can book a room for the following night at reduced rates. However you may not get your first choice this way.

The hotel also has it's own restaurant, while I have never dined there I am told it is very nice with a great menu.
The hotel also offers luxury spa and massage treatments. Great for continuing the luxurious theme."
