"My family and I have a break a few times a year in Wells-next-the-sea and each time, a visit to The Crown Hotel for a meal and a drink is on top of my list of things to do. Located in the Butlands which is just off the high street. If you follow the path up from the Harbour you should find it very easily. The Crown is a real jewel of this wonderful town.

The owners have created a chic, stylish hotel yet with a warm, friendly atmosphere.

The bar has an open fire and traditional beams and there is a conservatory and decking area at the back with lovely flower arrangements and parasols.

Everything is done to perfection including the female toilets with creative toilet seats and Molten Brown soap!

My favourite meal at The Crown was a dressed locally caught crab. The meals are always presented well and taste great. The prices are very good too.

I first went to The Crown with my son when he was 2 months old and I have been back with him several times. The Hotel is really family friendly. Although, I have made my husband promise that we can have a night child free at The Crown because I have heard that it is a very good night out!

I hope next time you visit Wells, you visit the Crown. You will have a lovely time - I am already looking forward to my next meal there in March!"

Wow @ the Molton Brown soap in the loos! The crab dish sounds absolutely fantastic, and really this whole recommendation makes me curious to visit The Crown.
