"In the quiet little seaside resort of Tywyn lies the Tal-y-Llyn railway - the home of Thomas the Tank Engine! The Reverend Awdry spent his holidays in Tywyn as a child and all his Thomas books are based on this railway.
It is the first steam railway to be preserved and is run entirely by volunteers. The station hosts a cafe, a shop, and even a student hostel for those who wish to holiday whilst giving up some of their time to give a helping hand on the trains! The track is a 7 mile journey of mountains, fields, and even a waterfall! There is another cafe halfway up the line which is situated a short walk from another lovely little village called Abergynolwyn where you can find a lovely family pub aptly named The Railway!
It really is a beautiful place and they even have a fully working Peter Sam engine! The perfect place for children to learn and have fun and a great day out for all the family."
