"I went to Blackpool via national express (seperate experience required, lol), and maust say, the amount of b&b's was incredible, I booked before I went, but wish I hadn't as there were a lot of b&b's with vacancies when I arrived. The trams are still running, but I think they are a little pricy if you are just going down the road as it is a set price no matter what distance (which they don't tell you before you get on), but is an experience not to be missed as is the old style trams with a ticket inspector who goes around the tram rather than paying as you get on. The pleasure beach is a big attraction for Blackpool, with some great rides, each ride costs a different price, and you can pay in tickets, or buy a wristband for the whole day (if you are going to do this check the web first, it is possible to get buy one get one free offers). I only went on a few rides, as for what it is I think it is very expensive, I think it cost my boyfriend and I about £12 for the pair of us to ride 'the big one' but it was superb as you can see the whole of Blackpool from the top, and until recently was Europes highest rollercoaster.
The sealife centre is another place not to be missed, it takes up about 3 hours of the day, but you can return as many times that day as you like. There is a holding tank where you can pick up sealife such as crabs and starfish, and youcan se the animals being fed. There is a tunnel which you can walk through and see sharks and other fish (a bit scary for me I'm terrified of sharks!). There are three piers, although the oldest one charges a fee to go down, it isn't much and goes towards the upkeep. And obviously there is the legendary 'golden mile' which is just under a mile of arcades, with all the classics, teddy grabbers, coin pushers, bingo as well as arcade games and slots. There are a lot of prize bingo places if thats your cup of tea, and I had to buy another bag to bring home all my souviners! Of course there is the Blackpool Tower which costs about £20 to go up, and you can go in the glass lift all the way to the top, they have a ballroom, a circus and many other attractions. I don't think there is enough to keep you occupied for longer than maybe 5 days, but a great English seaside and lots of fun to be had (and while your there, why not grab a show). If your going, bring me some rock back!" Was this recommendation useful?
