"Searles Holidays and Leisure Resort is a UK Family Holiday and Caravan Park based in Hunstanton on the Norfolk Coast. Established for over 50 years.
Ok I have stayed at this resort over 10 times, I have found that it is one of the better Holiday parks especially if you have a family. The whole experience is always a good one, with the park having great facilities, perfect scenery and fantastic staff.
Hunstanton's location makes it the perfect place for exploring the surrounding coast and countryside of North and West Norfolk. Some of the great experiences that you can encounter include visiting places such as:
EXPERIENCES
Sandringham House, Holkham Hall, Both of these are not just beautifully presented properties but also are full of information regarding their History of.
Norfolk Lavender at Heacham , You will not be able to mistake this place as before you reach it you can smell the aroma of the Lavender and as you drive up to this all you will see is a carpet of purple. They have different areas you can visit where you can purchase all types of Lavender. This is one not to be missed.
Hunstanton's Sealife Aquarium, Opening times are from 10am, They also have a restaurant which does great food. The Centre is an all weather attraction housed totally indoors. It is also Wheelchair accessible.
At this particular Centre they have successfully created a Seahorse breeding programme. Other Exhibits are Deep Sea Wrecks, Great Yarmouth Harbour, Sea Life Nursery this is where the injured animals are treated, it is very interesting to see what efforts go into looking after such animals. Touchpool, Fishermans Wharf, Island of the Gods and the Lost City of Atlantis.
RSPB reserves at Snettisham and Titchwell plus much, much more.
The accommodation at this Holiday park varies you can either choose:
Touring and Tenting,
Caravans,
Cottages,
Lodges
Cabins.
All these are offered with variety of upgraded Accommodation. We particularly like the Lodges, as these are exquisitely made and offer a high standard of amenities.
FACILTIES
Some of the facilities include such things as Golf, Tennis and even two fishing lakes which are stocked with rudd, roach, tench and carp up to 18lb. So could have a great day here you can purchase full day, half-day and hourly tickets are available, with the lakes open daily from 8am. (rules and conditions do apply)
There are two swimming pools one indoor and an outdoor pool. The indoor pool is heated and also consists of a children pool, Jacuzzi and sauna and is open throughout the season. The outdoor complex consists of a large heated pool plus two children's pools and is open between May 19th and September 11th 2006. For the serious swimmer, hour-long sessions of lane swimming operate when the outdoor pool is open. (Lane-swimming times as stated at pool). Leisure complex/swimming pool: Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult (18 or over).
You can also hire bikes from the Hire shop located on the Parks premises, Bicycles are available by the hour or by the day and bikes suitable for adults and children are available.
ENTERTAINMENT
Entertainment includes specialist activities for children, these are different each day. They have a mascot who is called Sidney the Sealion' who appears through out the resort. The activities include things such as quizzes, sports games also my daughter actually entered a Talent Competition when we went and become Miss Searles Runner-up. She absolutely loved doing this and the staff Where fantastic.
There have different clubs for the different ages which are:
Ages 2-8
Captain Willies Activity Centre
Ages 8-13
Searles Kids club is set for the 8 – 13 year olds (this is run through the summer Half Term and Summer Holiday periods)
Ages 14+
The older age group 14+ are able to use all of the leisure facilities on site including the swimming pool, golf course, fishing, tennis courts and hire shop without the supervision of an adult
EATING OUT
There are plenty of choices when you come to this Holiday Park, there is the Fish and Chip shop, the Waterspouts Café, The Country Club, The Plaza Café, The Plaza Food Court and also the Mariners Restaurant. You can also go to the supermarket to purchase your own food.
If this wasn't enough you can also visit Reflections Hair & Beauty Salon which is located within the park. So why not treat yourself! This is quiet new at the park, but has many differnt offers including Tanning Sun Shower, Manicures and pedicures, you can download a price list from the site before you go.
