"Tribeca & B.E.D. on Manchester's Gay Village is definitely what could be referred to as cosmopolitan. Although it is on the Gay Village it is very mixed, with different types of crowd at different times of the day. Tribeca is the upstairs bar and Bed is the restaurant-cum-nightclub in the basement. Tribeca is reminiscent of New York bars, with the huge cocktail bar in the centre of the room and the seating all around it.
The basement nightclub BED - which stands for 'Beverage, Entertainment and Dining' - allows you to relax and recline with pals on mattresses and then hit the dancefloor at night.
During the day and early evening you tend to get office-types, often taking advantage of the cheap wine before 7pm on weekdays (£5 a bottle!) and the delicious food, and the lounge-style jazz music.
At night Tribeca and B.E.D liven up in every sense. The music becomes livelier and louder and the bar becomes much busier. A lot of people use it as a pre-club bar for Gay Village clubbing. Tribeca has a wide range of cocktails, and you often find city-types in here sipping on a daquiri.
I would say that this is an excellent choice, as not only is it seemingly up market but it won't hurt your wallet, and drinks and food are always of a good standard. The atmosphere is also always great here, no matter what time of day it is."
