"Where I live the nearest places to go proper shopping are hereford and merthyr, both around 40 miles away. I love merthyr for shopping and usually go about once a month.
The town centre has a lot of shops, stocking most things you can think of.
It has the usual shops you can find around the country such as; superdrug, boots, Whsmiths, new look, a huge Tescos new last year.
I prefer the shops that aren't so common such as as wilkinsons and poundland.
Poundland is an excellent shop in the shopping centre and hasnt been there very long.

Poundland is only a small shop but the amount of stuff in there is fabulous. before xmas i picked up 2 items which were photo frames identical to shop i had seen in another shop for 10 quid each.
I can never get enough stuff in this shop as my basket always gets too heavy to carry.

The clothes shops in merthyr are good apart from the chains such as peacocks and newlook there are the smaller chains such as select and nefertiti i love nefertiti for the clothes are quite cheap.

Select always have good sales but they dont seem to do a petite range.

Monique is a good shop for clothes although slightly more expensive then the others good sales too after xmas i got 3 skirts for £3 .

This is a massive out of town place now which has TK Maxx Matalan Next etc but i havent really been there yet."
