AldeburghAldeburgh, Suffolk, England East Of EnglandRecommendation added: 12/03/2006 11:20 By: tottytight (YSUK rating +1) tottytight has been thanked 1 times for this contribution
"Aldeburgh is the most wonderful place to visit with or without children. It is on the coast, the beach is shingle but kids love it. It still has the little fisherman shacks along the front where you can buy freshly caught fish, dover sole, lobster whatever it is they've bought in and of course a chat!. There is a sailing boat pond in the centre for children to sail their boats on and of course a coffee/ice cream hut next to it. The town is full of colourful houses, fabulous shops and restarants, pubs and the best fish and chip shop for miles around. You can go rowing on the Meir at Thorpeness and then sit and have an ice cream and watch the ducks on the pond. There are no tacky fruit machines , it is just good old plain seaside town. We go back year after year with the children and each year it's just as fabulous"
