"If your looking for a place to stay, which is a little different from the Crowd, look no further than Whitesends Lodge, situated in the beautiful town of Sennen, a few miles from Lands End. Whitesands lodge offers a variety of accomodation, dormitory style at bargain prices, to Guest House style rooms and even tipi's! There is also camping space and this is offered at very competative prices.

About the Accomodation:

The building that Whitesands lodge is situated in is very pretty indeed. Large in size, it houses various sections including the backpackers dorms and b+b rooms. There is a garden for the summer months, and a BBQ has been introduced too!

Standard Of Accomodation:

When I last stayed here, I went with friends and we were in the backpackers accomodation. It offered comfortable bunk beds, with a shower room, WC and self catering kitchen. It is better than any youth hostel I have ever stayed in, with no time curfews. Recentlly, Whitesands has closed down for refurbishment, and they promise the standard of accomodation is even better, even though I thought it was very good anyway. There is of course, the bed and breakfast, which offers again recentlly refurbished rooms, with good prices to match. I cannot comment on the Tipi's as this is a new feature to whitesands, but as described on their website, it is a luxary twist to camping!

The Resturant:

Some of the best food I have EVER tasted came from whitesands lodge. They have a great menu, which always changes, and features local produce, home cooked to a fantastic standard. The resturant also has a bar, so you can enjoy a drink with your delicious meal. Why not try the Fanned Duck Breast or the mouth watering all day breakfast. There is also a good amount of vegan and veggie dishes.

The Staff:

Fantastic, you really could not ask for better people. As far as I know, in the last year or so, it has been taken over by a different group of people, but as far as I know, some of the old staff remain. Also, the old owners PROMISED, that they would only sell to someone with their attitude - Relaxed, Groovy and Fun!

Facilities: Whitesands Lodge has a lot to offer, without even stepping out the door! It features a TV room, pool table, bar and much more, including local information and very knoledgable staff. In regards to cleaning and cooking facilities, they have a top class self catering kitchen, power showers, WCs etc and they are all very clean and well maintained.

The Area: Sennen is one of the most breathtaking places in the country. Situated only a few miles from Lands End, Sennen has golden sands and beautiful clear sea, surrounded by cliffs and fantastic landscape. There is a shop and pub located close by.

Overall:

Whitesands Lodge is perfect for students and young ones on a budget right up to well off directors, looking for somewhere relaxing to stay. It really is a place for everyone, and the staff take great pleasure in offering the best service and a great atmosphere. Its groovy, its colourful, its relaxed infact its amazing - remember the name, whitesands lodge.

Location: Couple of miles from Lands End. Situated 10 miles from Penzance. Simply follow signs for lands end from Penzance, and look for it on your left hand side as you enter Sennen. You CAN'T miss it!."
