"Museum of Mankind. Housed here are the exhibitions , libary and offices of the ethnography department of the British museum. Its collections embrace the art and material culture of tribal village and other pre-industrial societies from most areas of the world excluding Western Europe. There are also archaeological collections from the Americas and Africa. A few important pieces are on permanent exhibition, but the museums policy is to mount a number of temporary exhibitions usually lasting for at least a year. These are always fascinating. A seperate store in Shoreditch contains the reserve collection which can be made available for serious study by arangement. Film shows and educational services are also available.

The exhibts include paintings, silver, furniture, and historical medical instruments, certificates, textbooks and memorabilia of noteable early St John personalities and pioneers. Special features are St Johns role in the development of medical transport and its service in the Boer and two World Wars. You should visit. Jonathan Simons"
