Bristsh works are also shown here, although the natioinal collection of these is in the Tate Gallery. Not to be missed in the British collections are Constables Haywain and Gainsboroughs Mr and Mrs Andrews. Among the earlier works is the Wilton Diptych, dating from the 14th century and showin Richard the second being presented to the Madonna. Lunchtime lectures and guided tours daily;quizzes and Constantly changing programme of exhibitions, usually highlighting certain aspects of the collection. The view from the galleries portico gives a splendid vista over Trafalgar Square. If you like art, whatever kind, then this is a must. Written by Jonathan Simons"
