"I stayed in a lovely little place just next to bodmin, in cornwall. There was a lot to do, but one of the best has got to be fishing. So that is waht i will describe. Cornwall probably isnt the best place for fishing, but as we were only travelling across England, my Dad, who is a big fishing fan, thaught he would bring his fishing equiptment with him.

There were two lakes there, well there were three, but it wasnt really in use. There were many spots around the lakes where you could fish. Neither were particulary large in size, but they were ok. One lake was were most of the family fishers would fish. This was literally swarming with fish. You could throw a few dog biscuits or some bread in, and there would be around 30-40 common carp, probably averaging out at around 6lb. There wernt hard to catch either, they came up to the surface so slowly, and there was little wind, meaning i could strike as it went for my floating bait. They would take around 2-3 seconds with their mouths out the water sliping the food into their mouths. Me and my dad caught around 20 fish in this lake, ranging from around 3-8lb.

The other lake was slightly more itriging, but unthinkably, this was the smaller lake. This lake contained many more reeds, and was usually slightly windier here as it was covered by woodland. The bigger fish inhabitated this lake, and they rarly came to the water, like they did in the other lake. It was best to use a flavoured boiley in this lake, fishing on the bottom. We fished for around periods of 2 hours, a very small margin of time for fisherman, but with only light carp rods, the two of us managed to catch 3 or 4 fish in a session. Our biggest was 18lb, not massive, but a fair size for a bit of on-site family holiday fishing. In this lake there was a lovely 12lb 6oz mirror, lovely shiny scales, this really was a great fish, we caught the same one twice. I strongly suggest a visit."
