"Situated in the small community village of Emberton, lies Emberton Park, a haven for campers, fishermen, walkers and birdwatchers alike. It's a camp site come family park like no other. Theres no amusement arcades or funfairs, just acres of beautiful, unspoilt countryside which the whole family can enjoy. Whether you come here for a day trip, or a weekend camp, let me tell you what Emberton Park has to offer to you, and the family:

LOCATION AND DIRECTIONS
Emberton is situated on the A509 road, one mile south of Olney and ten miles north east of Milton Keynes. come of Junction 14 of the M1, then follow signs for Newport Pagnell. Go through Newport Town centre, pass Woolworths on your left, and continue forward, over the bridge. Carry on until you see signs for Tyringham on your right, and enter. Go through the beautiful village of Tyringham and exit the other end. Turn left, and Emberton is a couple of miles on the left hand side. WHAT TO DO
Emberton is a country park, and covers a wide range of interests. For fishers, there is a fantasic lake. Rod licences are available by the day, from the reception point. For Walkers, Emberton is set over many acres of countryside. You can walk for hours, taking in the different sights on offer. There is a park for the children, with a whole host of slides and other park attractions. With plenty of open green, why not have a game of football or rounders. You can really use your imagination here.

CAMPING
Emberton Park is an ideal base for camping and caravaning. Emberton accepts tents and caravans alike, with very good rates. There are electric hook up points too, so no need to worry about electricity. Prices to camp at emberton are listed further on, in this review. Emberton Park is also an absolute MUST for people visiting concerts at the Milton Keynes Bowl. When a concert is announced, the hotels around MK fill up very quickly, but Emberton not only has loads of space available, but offers great prices during gigs. There are no real restrictions on party ages - but you will need approval if you are an all boy or all girl group, under the age of 18

ENTRANCE PRICES AND CARAVAN/CAMPING PRICES
Entrance to the park is free, but there is a charge for car parking. This varies throughout the season, but off peak, expect to pay a pound or two, up to £5 during the summer months. GENERAL CAMPING NOTES
On the touring field, where we always stay, there are showers and toilets. If you stay on the Rally Field, expect a few minutes walk to the loo. There are no showers available though. Pitches are available from 12:00 midday and must be vacated by 10:30am (although this is text book and not strictly what happens) During bank holidays, Emberton has a min 3 night booking policy.

SURROUNDING AREAS TO VISIT

Milton Keynes - Famous for its wicked nightlife and amazing attractions. See my seperate review for more details.

Tyringham - A beautiful little village, with farms and animals to look at, and hours of walking enjoyment.

Newport Pagnell - A traditional town, just outside Milton Keynes, with shops, resturants, pubs and working mens clubs. Ideal for a drink or two!

Just a little update; Emberton Park is a very popular place to stay, during concerts taking place at the bowl. Its now fully booked for all events. Apart from that, the park is in full swing now!
